Claire and Scott – Zigbone Farms – Baltimore Wedding Photographer
Claire and Scott are such a cute couple! They decided to hold their wedding in a beautiful mountain area – Sabillasville, Maryland! The venue they chose was Zigbone Farm Retreat, located less than a mile from the Pennsylvania state line. As soon as we entered the farm, we were greeted by everything you would come to expect from a farm: goats, sheep, vast and beautiful landscape, all surrounding a quaint rustic home front.
The bride, groom, and most of the family were already at the retreat, as they stayed the night prior to get an early start on the wedding decorations and prep work. The couple decided on a fun board game theme, and the yard was decorated with large yard sized versions of games including corn hole and Jenga. to name a few. The couple kept things simple, opting not to take part in many of the traditional wedding customs such as the bouquet or garter toss and first dances and instead kept the event very relaxed and organic. The layout of the venue provided a lovely overhead view of the ceremony courtesy of a well placed balcony level. The colors and layout of the buildings and grounds lent itself perfectly to a rustic, stylish wedding. The one tradition they did decide to keep was the cake cutting, with the cake and cupcakes provided by Cupcakes by Patrick, and Patrick himself along with his husband Adam came out to make sure everything was perfect. Dinner was a buffet style BBQ provided by Pork Is Good Stuff (P.I.G.S. for short).
As a bonus, the wedding day was perfectly timed to sneak away for some portraits in the gorgeous sunset light. We hope you love these as much as we do!
